15-PGDH
15-PGDH is considered to be the key catabolic enzyme which controls the biological activity of the prostaglandins, the enzyme catalyzes the reversible oxidation of the 15 hydroxyl group of prostaglandins to produce a 15-keto metabtlite with greatly reduced biological activity. Because of the importance of 15-PGDH in the metabolism of the prostaglandins, there has been considerable interest in the effects of pharmacological drugs on enzyme activity.
