-
Description(-)-Bornyl acetate is a less active enantiomer of (+)-Bornyl acetate. (-)-Bornyl acetate isolates from hyssop oil and possesses antifungal activity. (-)-Bornyl acetate shows highly active whitening and antioxidant activities, has potential applications in cosmeceutical materials. (-)-Bornyl acetate downregulated the levels of proinflammatory cytokines in vitro and in vivo; reduced the number of total cells, neutrophils, and macrophages in BALF; attenuated the histologic alterations in the lung; decreased the wet-to-dry weight ratio in BALF; and suppressed NF-kappa-B inhibitor alpha, extracellular regulated protein kinases, c-JunN-terminal kinase, p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase activation.(In Vitro):The wavy roots from seedlings exposed to (-)-bornyl acetate are significantly longer than those from seedlings exposed to ()-bornyl acetate. (-)-Bornyl acetate (L-bornyl acetate), when applied individually to barley seedlings, reduced powdery mildew infection compared with controls not containing ether.

Reference
-
dencichine
Dencichine is a neurotoxic agent. Dencichine is a haemostatic agent, the hemostatic effect relates to modulation of the coagulation system, platelet aggregation and fibrinolytic system.
-
Epicatechin
(-)-Epicatechin is an inhibitor of cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1), inhibiting the IL-1β-induced expression of iNOS by blocking the nuclear localization of the p65 subunit of NF-κB.
-
Eudesmin
Eudesmin shows antiinflammatory neuritogenic anticonvulsant and sedative effects the mechanism of eudesmin may be related to up-regulation of GABAA and GAD65 expressions and anti-apoptosis of neuron the in brain.50 microM (+)-eudesmin can induce neurite outgrowth and enhance nerve growth factor (NGF)-mediated neurite outgrowth from PC12 cells by stimulating up-stream MAPK PKC and PKA pathways.
