DescriptionCipemastat (Ro 32-3555) is a potent, second-generation, orally active MMP inhibitor, preferentially inhibits collagenases (MMP-1, -8, and -13) and gelatinase B (MMP-9); inhibits human collagenases 1, 2 and 3 (Ki of 3.0, 4.4 and 3.4 nM), and Ro 323555 is a selective inhibitor of collagenases over the related stromelysin 1, and gelatinases A and B (Ki of 527, 154 and 59 nM); prevents cartilage breakdown both in vitro and in vivo.Rheumatoid Arthritis Phase 3 Discontinued.
