    B591 (B-591) is a potent, specific pan-PI3K inhibitor with IC50 of 1.3/0.36/1.1/1.58 uM for PI3Kα/β/γ/δ, respectively; induces a dose-dependent decrease of PIP3/PI (4,5)P2 ratio with IC50 of 1.91 uM in HCT116 cells; shows effective inhibition of cellular PI3K/mTOR signaling pathway and robust antitumor activity in a set of cancer cell lines; exhibited more potency in suppressing cancer stem cells (CSCs) survival and inducing CSCs apoptosis, and presence of B591 effectively eliminated paclitaxel-enriched CSCs; preferentially decreases CSCs levels in mouse xenograft model of human breast cancer.
