-
DescriptionTalniflumate is a calcium-activated chloride channel (hCLCA1/mCLCA3) blocker that reduces mucin synthesis and releases in animal models and cell culture. It possesses anti-inflammatory actions via inhibition of Cox (cyclooxygenase) and inhibits Cl-/HCO3- exchange activity. It also increases survival in a cystic fibrosis mouse model of the distal intestinal obstructive syndrome.(In Vivo):Talniflumate (oral chow; 0.4 mg/g; 21 days) significantly increases CF mouse survival from 26 to 77%. It does not alter crypt goblet cell numbers or change intestinal expression of mCLCA3 but tends to decrease crypt mucoid impaction.

26Rfa, Hypothalamic ...
This human neuropeptide of the RFamide peptide family with orexigenic activity may be also involved in the control of feeding behavior. The 26RFa gene is exclusively expressed in the ventromedial hypothalamic nucleus and in the lateral hypothalamic area. The primary structures of human, rat, and frog 26RFa exhibit ≈80% identity. Other data suggest also the potential role of the 26RFa peptide in the control of the gonadotropic axis.
