Biological Information

  • Product Name
    Orientin
  • Note
Research use only, not for human use.
  • Brief Description
Orientin may be regarded as a candidate therapeutic agent for treatment of vascular inflammatory diseases via inhibition of the HMGB1 signaling pathway.
  • Description
Orientin may be regarded as a candidate therapeutic agent for treatment of vascular inflammatory diseases via inhibition of the HMGB1 signaling pathway. Orientin protects vascular barrier integrity by inhibiting hyperpermeability, expression of CAMs, and adhesion and migration of leukocytes, thereby endorsing its usefulness as a therapy for vascular inflammatory diseases. Orientin has neuroprotection effect by the intracellular mediation of caspase activity; may alleviate cognitive deficits and oxidative stress in AD mice; can exert antidepressant-like effects on CUMS mice, specifically by improving central oxidative stress, neurotransmission, and neuroplasticity.
  • In Vitro
Cell Viability Assay Cell Line:RBL-2H3, mBMMCs, and RPMCs Concentration:0.01–100 μM Incubation Time:8 h Result:Significantly suppressed the levels of histamine and β-hexosaminidase in RBL-2H3, mBMMCs, and RPMCs cells.Inhibited the intracellular calcium levels in RBL-2H3, mBMMCs, and RPMCs cells.Markedly inhibited the pro-inflammatory cytokines expression and secretion in RBL-2H3 cells.Inhibited phosphorylation in RBL-2H3 cells.
  • In Vivo
Animal Model:PCA mouse modelDosage:0.1–10 mg/kg Administration:Oral gavage (p.o.); Euthanized mouse after 1 h Result:Significantly suppressed PCA reactions in PCA mouse model.Animal Model:SNL rat model Dosage:10, 20, 40 mg/kg Administration:Intraperitoneal injection (i.p.); Once daily for 12 days Result:Alleviated the downreg-ulation of PWL and promoted the behavior recovery in SNL rat model.Decreased the levels of IL-6, IL-1β and TNF-α.Increased the level of anti-inflammatory IL-10. Down-regulated the level of MDA.
