Biological Information

  • Product Name
    Angiotensin 1-7
  • Note
Research use only, not for human use.
  • Brief Description
Angiotensin (1-7) (Ang-(1-7)) is an active heptapeptide of the Renin-angiotensin system (RAS).
  • Description
Angiotensin (1-7) (Ang-(1-7)) is an active heptapeptide of the Renin-angiotensin system (RAS), inhibits purified canine angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) activity with IC50 of 0.65 uM; augments bradykinin-induced vasodilation by competing with ACE and releasing nitric oxide, abolishes AGE-induced cellular hypertrophy and myofibroblast transformation via inhibition of ERK1/2; evokes anti-arrhythmogenic effects in animal models, upregulates cardiac nitric oxide synthase in spontaneously hypertensive rats.
  • In Vitro
Angiotensin 1-7 (Ang-(1-7)) inhibits cultured vascular smooth muscle cell growth, whereas equal molar concentration of Ang II stimulates cell growth.Angiotensin 1-7 (Ang 1-7) abrogates the methylglyoxal-modified albumin (MGA)-stimulated myofibroblast phenotype by inhibiting the chronic stimulation of the TGF-β-ERK pathway in NRK-52E cells.?Angiotensin 1-7 signals through the Mas receptor ( MasR) in opposition to Ang II/angiotensin II type 1 receptor (AT1R), promoting anti-inflammatory,vasodilatory, and neuroprotective effects.
  • In Vivo
Daily Angiotensin 1-7 (Ang-(1-7)) treatment (0.01-0.06 mg/kg) results in significant amelioration of DSS-induced colitis. Colitis-associated phosphorylation of p38, ERK1/2 and Akt is reduced by Ang 1-7 treatment.

  • C-Type Natriuretic P...

CNP, a member of the natriuretic peptide family, was first identified in porcine brain and later found in other mammals as well as non-mammals. Processing of the CNP precursor gives rise to CNP-22 and its N-terminally elongated form, CNP-53. The CNPs share considerable sequence homology with ANP and BNP within the disulfide loop and exert similar pharmacological actions, although with different relative potencies.
