DescriptionLN-1-255 is a 6-alkylidene-2'-substituted penicillin sulfone that acts as an effective beta-lactamase inhibitor; inhibits SHV-1 and SHV-2 beta-lactamases with Ki of 110 nM and 100 nM, significantly enhances the activity of ceftazidime and cefpirome against extended-spectrum cephalosporin and Sme-1 containing carbapenem-resistant clinical strains; also inhibits the class D carbapenemase OXA-48 with IC50 of 3 nM, an important emerging mechanism of antibiotic resistance.
