Diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid calcium trisodium salt hydrate is a nontoxic inhibitor of CMV replication.(In Vitro):The antiviral activity of Calcium trinatrium diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid hydrate is suppressed by metal ions with a decreasing potency order of Mn2+/Zn2+>Fe2+>Cu2+>Fe3+. Diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid calcium trisodium salt hydrate inhibits CMV L-antigen production with EC 50 ranging from 6.1 to 9.9 μM .
