-
Description21-deacetyldeflazacort is a metabolite of Deflazacort, which is a systemic corticosteroid and a derivative of prednisolone.(In Vitro):21-deacetyldeflazacort displaces [3H]dexamethasone from its cytosol receptor sites in rat kidney, thymus and liver in vitro.(In Vivo):21-deacetyldeflazacort inhibited 48-h homologous passive cutaneous anaphylaxis in rats, but had no significant effects on active systemic anaphylaxis in mice, on the Schultz-Dale reaction in the isolated guinea-pig trachea or on compound 48/80-induced histamine release in rat peritoneal mast cells. 21-deacetyldeflazacort inhibited reversed cutaneous anaphylaxis in rats and the Arthus reaction in mice.
