Brief DescriptionBMS-193885 is an effective and selective neuropeptide Y1 receptor antagonist (IC50: 5.9nM).
-
DescriptionBMS-193885 is an effective and selective neuropeptide Y1 receptor antagonist (IC50: 5.9nM).(In Vitro):BMS 193885 increases the Kd of [(125)I]PeptideYY from 0.35 nM to 0.65 nM without changing the Bmax (0.16 pmol/mg of protein) in SK-N-MC cells that endogenously express the neuropeptide Y(1) receptor. BMS 193885 is a full antagonist with an apparent Kb of 4.5 nM measured by reversal of forskolin-stimulated inhibition of cAMP production by neuropeptide Y.(In Vivo):BMS 193885 (10 mg/kg; i.p.) reduces one-hour neuropeptide Y-induced food intake in satiated rats, as well as spontaneous overnight food consumption. Chronic administration of BMS 193885 (10 mg/kg) i.p. for 44 days significantly reduces food intake and the rate of body weight gain compared to vehicle treated control without developing tolerance or affecting water intake.

Cltrinin
Citrinin (NSC 186) is a mycotoxin that causes food contamination and has different toxic effects. Citrinin is an effective oral anticancer agent. Citrinin has various regulatory effects on mouse immune system, including regulating the number of immune cells, inducing apoptosis and autophagy of immune cells, altering toll-like receptor expression and cytokine production. Citrinin can induce oxidative stress and lead to early apoptosis of oocytes. Low doses of Citrinin have neuroprotective effects against glutamate-induced excitotoxicity in rat cortical neurons. In addition, Citrinin also has antibacterial activity.
-
Mauritianin
Mauritianin is a kaempferol glycoside isolated from the flowers and leaves of Acalypha indica and is a topoisomerase I inhibitor.Mauritianin has cytoprotective activity.
