-
DescriptionStrictosidinic acid, an orally active glycoside indole monoterpene alkaloid isolated from Psychotria myriantha leaves, inhibits precursor enzymes of 5-HT biosynthesis and reduces the 5-HT levels. Strictosidinic acid has peripheral analgesic and antipyretic activities in mice.

In Vitro——
-
In VivoStrictosidinic acid (20 μg/μl; intra-hippocampal injection) causes a significance of 83.5% reduction in 5-HT levels. Strictosidinic acid (10 mg/kg; i.p.) causes a 63.4% reduction in 5-HT levels and a 67.4% reduction in DOPAC values in male Wistar rats, weighing 200-250 g.

Hyperforin
Hyperforin is a transient receptor canonical 6 (TRPC6) channels activator. Hyperforin modulates Ca2+ levels by activating Ca2+-conducting non-selective canonical TRPC6 channels and triggers adipose tissue thermogenesis via the Dlat-AMPK signaling axis to suppress obesity. Hyperforin also shows diverse pharmacological activities including anti-depression, anti-tumor, anti-dementia, anti-diabetes. Hyperforin modulates γδ T cells to secret IL-17α, improves Imiquimod -induced psoriasis-like mice model.
-
Nafronyl oxalate
A drug used in the management of peripheral and cerebral vascular disorders. It is claimed to enhance cellular oxidative capacity and to be a spasmolytic.
