Brief DescriptionMorroniside would act as a regulator of hepatic inflammatory reactions and lipid metabolism in db/db mice.
-
DescriptionMorroniside would act as a regulator of hepatic inflammatory reactions and lipid metabolism in db/db mice. It exhibits protective effects against diabetic renal damage and human umbilical vein endothelial cells, by inhibiting hyperglycemia and oxidative stress. Morroniside can notably protect the brain from damage induced by focal cerebral ischemia which might be related to morroniside antioxidant and anti-apoptotic properties in the brain.
-
In Vitro——
-
In VivoMorroniside reduces the expression of MMP2 and MMP9 in an I/R injury model. Treatment with Morroniside significantly reduces I/R?associated neuron apoptosis in a dose dependent manner. The results demonstrate that active caspase?3 and Bax are significantly upregulated in the model group compared with the control group, while Bcl?2 is significantly downregulated. The expression of active caspase?3 and Bax is significantly downregulated by Morroniside treatment in a dose?dependent manner, while the expression of Bcl?2 is significantly upregulated. Morroniside has an ameliorative effect on diabetes-induced alterations such as oxidative stress, inflammation, and apoptosis in the liver of type 2 diabetic db/db mice.
