Brief DescriptionFinasteride is an orally active testosterone 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor (Ki= 10 nM).
-
DescriptionFinasteride is an orally active testosterone 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor (Ki= 10 nM).(In Vitro):Finasteride (10 μM; 6-24 h) induces the expression of HO-1 and Nrf2 proteins in PC-3 cells.Finasteride decreases the conversion of [3H]testosterone (T) to [3H]dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in P. crustosum.(In Vivo):Finasteride (0.1-0.5 mg/kg; p.o. once daily for 16 weeks) reduces prostatic size in dogs with BPH without adversely affecting semen quality or serum testosterone concentration.

Reference
-
ALR2-IN-1
ALR2-IN-1 is a potent and selective ALR2 inhibitor with an IC50 value of 1.42 μM. ALR2-IN-1 possesses both antiglycemic and antioxidant activities and can be used to study the complications of diabetes.
-
DL-Glyceraldehyde
Glyceraldehyde is produced from the action of the enzyme glyceraldehyde dehydrogenase which converts glycerol to glyceraldehyde using NADP as a cofactor. When present at sufficiently high levels glyceraldehyde can be a cytotoxin and a mutagen. A cytotoxin is a compound that kills cells.
-
Sorbinil
Sorbinil is an Aldose reductase inhibitor. Sorbinil plays a therapeutic role in treating diabetes and diabetic complications decreases AR activity and inhibit the polyol pathway.
