Brief DescriptionAlpha-hederin is a water-soluble pentacyclic triterpenoid saponin found in the seeds of Nigella sativa, with hemolytic and apoptotic properties.
-
Descriptionalpha-Hederin is Derived from beta-amyrin; other hederigenin based saponins are available. It induces apoptosis in hepatocellular carcinoma cells.(In Vitro):alpha-Hederin (α-Hederin) is cytotoxic and inhibits proliferation in both cel lines at rather low concentrations. alpha-Hederin (α-Hederin)reduces the mitotic activity in treated cells.(In Vivo):alpha-Hederin (α-Hederin) has preventive effect on sensitized rats like thymoquinone. It may intervene in miRNA-126 expression, which consequently could interfere with IL-13 secretion pathway leading to a reduction in inflammatory responses.

HIF-1 alpha 556-574
HIF-1 alpha (556-574) is a hypoxia-inducible factor-1 19-mer fragment. HIF-1 functions as master regulator of response to oxygen homeostasis. Hypoxia-induced gene expression is initiated when HIF-1subunit is stabilized in response to a lack of oxygen. This part of HIF-1 binds to the von Hippel-Lindau factor (VHL) an E3 ubiquitin ligase, and the proline 564 is absolutely vital to the binding process.
